The economic recession has me thinking about the ideas of risk, and the ways we try to live without it. To love your neighbor means to invest yourself emotionally in his or her welfare. Yet, it seems that we are so afraid of losing what little we have left that we are hunkered down, and emotionally divorced from our neighbor.
