To my great surprise, it turns out that my congregation didn't spend its adolescence reading Kurt Vonnegut like I did, so the terms Granfalloon, Bokononism and calypsos were pretty much a mystery to them. Turns out they never heard of Saint Simeon Stylites the Elder, either, but we made it through, just the same.
