Oh My Son

When David dishonored Bathsheba and murdered her husband, the prophet Nathan prophesied that the sword would never leave David's house, and that others would sleep with his wives in the sight of all. That is what happened at the hands of David's treacherous son, Absalom, yet when Absalom was killed, David mourned "Oh, my son, my son, Absalom. Would that I had died instead of you.
