After Cain killed his brother,
the Bible recounts possibly the most important question in the First
Testament.
- Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”“I don't know,” he replied. “Am I my brother's keeper?”
A
very good case can be made, I think, that the remainder of the Bible,
from that moment on, is commentary on Cain's question, “Am I my
brother’s keeper?”
